Pharmacy ?

Well, attended a talk on pharmacy this afternoon which is conducted in imu. Mom and i arrived at the university pretty early and when we entered the lecture hall we were the only two people present. A moment later, a man came in and immediately he approached and introduced himself as professor peter pook. We shook hands, and begun discussing about the pharmacy course. The talk started later than sheduled, and throughout the talk, he did crack out some jokes which made us laughed. Hm, overall the talk was rather, or should i say, extremely convincing. My mom, who was so immersed in what he has to say, was nodding all the way, a sign of agreeing, i guess. I was a little convinced too, but still in two minds. I feel that i have to consider and weigh the other options available too. Sigh, how long do i have to agonize over this? After the talk, we were brought to tour around the campus. Nothing much... Oh well, IF i were to choose PHARMACY, my parents have everything nicely planned: south australian metriculation (SAM) in taylor's - one year, pharmacy course - collaborating with university of strathclyde, uk (1 year) in imu - 3.5 years. Still, i don't know what to choose...

ASEAN Pre-U Scholarships

It's been a long time since i've last posted. Attended the entrance exam for the asean pre-U scholarships today. Anyway, i wasn't prepared at all for the test as i wasn't so fancy about going to singapore to study. Mom woke me up in the morning, got ready and packed all the necessary things to be brought. While waiting for my uncle to come and fetch us, i rushed into mom's room to on the ragnarok bot. Got kindda frustrated when my pc sort of hanged for a moment and had no choice but to restart it. It didn't work well after that and after a few more tweaks of the pc, i gave up and ran down as my uncle is about to arrive. The test was held in sunway lagoon resort and the directions to the hotel wasn't that complicated. Finally reached there and mom and i headed straight to the anukis hall where the test is going to be conducted. When i was waiting for the registration hour, i was looking around and having thoughts of how many of us were to be chosen. Personally, i was hoping for a smaller quota as i don't hope to go overseas so soon. Besides, i was afraid if my parents were to force me if i were to be given the opportunity. At first it seems as if everyone had their friends there except for me. Not long after that, my mom noticed li chen, my primary classmate approaching and immediately after she informed me, i glanced back and saw it was really her, along with her brother, sheng wei. Gosh, i could hardly recognize li chen but his brother still looks the same, except for his height. He's much taller. A few moments later, it was time to register and parents were asked to move aside as the place was pretty crowded. While standing there waiting for further information, a girl said 'hi' and we introduced ourselves. Apparently, she's from johor bahru. We were grouped according to the classes given and i was with li chen and sheng wei in class 3. We were then arranged according to our index numbers. In the hall, we were seated in pairs. The girl beside me appears to be from pahang and she's kindda friendly. We had a few conversations too throughout the day. First paper was maths, and the questions were harder than addmaths. I didn't even manage to complete all the questions. Had a short break after the two hour tests and following that was english. The two-hour paper is divided into two sections, comphrehension and composition. Lunch break was after that and mom and i decided to dine at sushi king in sunway pyramid. The last paper was the general ability test. By that time, i was already shivering in the hall. Initially i was worried if they were to interview us, on top of that, i was shivering and could barely speak perfectly. Luckily it was not, it's just some short IQ test. After that was done, we proceeded into the briefing room and we were given a talk on the terms of the scholarship and all. The benefits given kindda attract me for a moment, and as the lady speaks, i was already considering whether to accept the offer, IF i were to get it. The terms of the scholarship are as in:

1 Allowance of S$2,400 per annum with hostel accommodation
2 S$200 settling-in allowance (once only)
3 Transport allowance to Singapore and back to home country upon completion of course
4 Waiver of school fees and donation to the Education Fund
5 Waiver of GCE 'A' Level examination fees (once only, if applicable)
6 Subsidised medical benefits and accident insurance cover
7 There is no bond attached to the scholarship

2400 sing dollars will be equivalent to at least 4800 ringgit and that means we'll have about 400 ringgit to be spent every month. On top of that, breakfast and dinner will be provided by the hostel - less money to be spent. As for the subjects to be taken, if i've not mistaken, the general paper and mother tongue language (MTL) will be compulsary whereas the another 4 subjects are to be picked from a list. To be a scholar seems interesting and some people feels that it's an honour. However, i have doubts of whether to go there.
